The schools

Branch Schools

Officer Candidate School was never a single place. It ran through branch schools, each commissioning officers for its own arm of the service.

The first classes convened in July 1941 at ten locations across the United States. Each branch school trained candidates for its own branch, and a graduate's records — class, dates, commissioning branch — belong to the school that trained them. Searching by branch school is often the fastest way to find a particular graduate.
